Please note: The Census Bureau does not provide practice assessments, except for those applicants who are required to take the English Proficiency assessment. There are sample assessment questions available on the instructions page of the application.
All 2020 Census employees in the 50 states and Washington, D.C., must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
If you choose to read and answer the assessment questions in Spanish, you will be asked to take the English proficiency test to determine how well you can read and understand English. This is a timed test with two sections. The test takes a total of 15 minutes.
